Throughout 20 years of establishment and development, SAM Holdings desires to become one of the leading conglomerates in Vietnam. From our beginning as a manufacturer and distributor for the telecommunication sector, until now, SAM Holdings has now expanded into other industries such as: tourism, real estate, financial investment… From 2015, with a strategic vision, SAM Holding realized the agricultural potential and advantages of Dak Nong provinces. Considered as a predominantly agricultural region in Central highland, this province has greatly benefited from the Nature like fertile soil, favorable weather condition, local terrain which are suitable for cultivation. What is more, local people are genuine, honest and love farming than ever. SAM Holdings believes that a strategic investment program in Dak Nong is necessary to exploit the advantage in agriculture with the aim of boosting local economy and eradicating poverty. In a near future, Dak Nong will definitely become a key agricultural region of Vietnam.
Derived from these reasons, we set cornerstone for the establishment of SAM High Technology Agriculture Joint Stock Company (SAM Agritech). Organic products produced by modern technology that adhere to our corporate social responsibilities are our promise to customers. In addition to business development, SAM Agritech contributes to sustainable economic development of local farmers by bringing job/business opportunities and advanced technologies, developing plant varieties, and adding values for agricultural products.
--- STARTING FROM THE FIRST PEPPER PROCESSING FACTORY IN DAK NONG ---For a long time, Dak Nong has been well-known as an area specializing in pepper cultivation. Due to basalt soil and humid tropical climate, pepper of this area has strong taste and higher density than products from other provinces. However, there are still many limitations in term of provincial processing, consumption and export of pepper: after copping, manual drying method is the most frequently used, so quality of the product is low. number of direct exporters remains just a few. Until 2016, the province had just 4 processing units with capacity of 4,900 tons/year in districts of Dak R’Lap and Dak Song which was capable of meeting nearly 30% total output of the province not to mention these units remain restricted in term of processing technology with major form is rough process. That is why pepper of Dak Nong Province has not been strong enough to complete with domestic and international markets.
Based on existing potential and promoting advantages as well as exploiting effectively economic value of pepper, SAM Agritech decided to construct a processing pepper factory whose purpose is to collect high-quality pepper from the local and exportation. Despite of many challenges in planning and implementation, SAM Agritech overcame these difficulties and successfully built a pepper factory with an expected capacity of 9000 tons/ year during a year. Located in the heart of the largest pepper production area of Dak Nong in particular and the Central Highland in general and convenient transportation, SAM Agritech believes that this factory will become an indispensable part of sustainable pepper value chain of this province, contributing to develop brand image of “Dak Nong pepper”.
--- PROM FARMS TO FARMS ---Apart from pepper, SAM Agritech aims to promote agricultural production. Despite that the locals started planting avocado, passion fruit, durian, sweet potato …long time ago, production has still been on a small scale and unstable because of limit of technology. Therefore, SAM Agritech is a pionner in developing large-scaled farms, looking to build a comprehensive agricultural system geared towards modernity and sustainability with a high level of competitiveness rooted in hi-tech commodity-based production, as well as to ensure food security and environmental sanitation standards while keeping abreast of adapting to climate change conditions. Currently, SAM Agritech is focusing on two farms named Mai Khoi (located in Dak Glong District with a total area of 1335 hectares) and Quang Son (located in the same district with a total area of 796 ha). In future, SAM Agritech sets a target to expand planting areas into neighboring countries such as Laos, Cambodia …
--- TOWARDS INTERNATIONAL PROJECTS ---We're on the cusp of the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Setting sustainable agriculture as the top priority, SAM Agritech understands the importance of using high technology in agriculture sector. International cooperation projects with the participation of foreign experts are highly prioritized. The first step is the co-investment funding agreement with People Committee of Dak Nong, New Zealand G2G Partnership Office and Plant and Food Research (New Zealand) to promote Dak Nong Avocado to international market. SAM Agritech is willing to find partners in sustainable agriculture development program to boost local economy and improve living standard.
